Exactly. Not only me but Lina and Mhenlo too. If Claude or Eve do nothing else they provide mindless energy management so you don't have to waste a skill slot on that.

Let's not forget the other really important reason that drives 80% of everything in Guild Wars -- LOOKS. Face it, they look badder than hell.

I think a better question is does anyone use Dunham or whatever the hell his name is? What the hell does he do? I use Claude all the time because he's great for energy management and I just have a lot more success. Usually I take everyone and get down to Dunham or Claude, and there's no contest.

He has his uses, the only thing that bothers me is that he's also casting blood ritual on Stefan and Little Thom. So he runs into the mob like Alesia does and end up getting killed.

Maybe those two are related.

I take him along because of his sense of humor, even when things get dicey he manages to pull a good fart joke.

once again this is due to people's inability to control the henches. if you call your energy when it is low he will blood ritural you. of course hench commands do not always work immeditatly but if you call it enough they get the point.

It is Lina who uses those skills and not just on her self and she is very good the on;y bad thing is she doesn't have self heal so it is up to Alesia to heal her up if Alesia dies she has to spam those spell on her self to stay alive as to no self heals.Getting on to the Topic here I use Claude at certian times and places but the first to be tageted henchy is either Alesia or Orion as GWwiki says about it.I am not big on Dunham if he cam with Cunjure phantasm or burdden then he would be fine as he is now No and Stefan could use better sword skills griffon sweep and power atttack not many sword warriors use those. Here is a list of henchmen in what it say about them.

all those henches have their value - as far as I can tell- except orion now ( because he uses firestorm , and we all know what that does post-patch ).

Lina is actually quite useful in helping out any healer with protection spells .
Alesia/Mhenlo are adequate healers
Claude/Eve do use BR frequently , although sometimes the timing is off
I never - or rarely- take the mesmer , so I can't really tell - but I'm pretty sure he has his value .

I have noticed Cynn is "smarter" when it comes to elementalist-henching . Occasionally pick her .

I still take Orion. Quite often enemies stay halfway through the firestorm or sometimes they almost forget to run away from it. Or he often puts it near me when I'm getting swamped with warriors.

I've seen him use burden. It was at a really stupid time, though...

Okay. As for Claude, yes, he can be stupid sometimes. But when he's not, he works very well. Therefore I take him.

Claude is essential if you're taking Alesia (who has no energy management) and Lina.

Other than that, I'm one of the people who really don't like him. He keeps invading my personal space! and giving br to a mesmer who is just about to use something for energy management is just plain stupid.

Hehe.. try rebirthing him first though and see how long it takes for him to suecide while you're rebirthing the rest of the team

I tryed him a few times...He didn't help..

He literally used Blood Ritual on me (a ranger) when I had full energy..AFTER a battle...yea..

And in a battle he is useless. All have their bad sides.

Stefan - REFUSES to leave a battle. (you gotta be 40 miles away for him to break and retreat with you).
Reyna - Is the noobiest ranger I've seen..carries no good skills.
Orion - Spends the whole battle casting only to rain Firestorm down on dead corpses.
Little Thom - Same bad thing as Stefan + he can't hold aggro (he runs around sometimes).
Lina - Just randomly throws protection spells around (I have several stories about her).
Dunham - Can seem to be doing little more than spam Empathy.
Alesia - I can go on for days about - especially her love to rezing people at weird times.

But all are good in their own right too.

(Most people diss Dunham because they either dont like Mesmers in general or think that "mesmer" means "Interuptor" in some weird langauge and Dunham does none of that)

Can be useful sometimes, he casts wells decently often, and usually on a first drop in a mob, which is great timing especially when i'm on my warrior.

The main difference between Stephan and Thom is that, when you attack a foe, Stephan (and Devona) charge ahead and attack. Thom just moves in at normal speed and attacks the enemy. When I solo with henchies with my monk I usually prefer Stephan or Devona because they charge ahead and keep distance between me and the enemy. As such they're better tanks than Thom.

I have nothing against mesmers - I run a mesmer character that I like a lot. But Dunham is pretty weak and uninspiring as far as mesmers go - on top of that he dies faster than anyone else in the pack, in my experience. That's why I usually leave him out.
